Hands-On Mentorship

Program Overview

What is a Mentorship?

A mentorship is a nurturing relationship between two, where one person invests time, energy and personal knowledge in assisting the growth and development of another person.

The mentorship requires the mentor and mentee to work together to reach specific goals and to provide sufficient feedback to ensure that the goals are reached.

It can include formal and informal elements, such as written goals and scheduled meeting times or an occasional chat or e-mail exchange.

Hands-On Mentorship is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience. Through one-on-one guidance, group workshops, and networking events, students develop technical expertise, entrepreneurial mindsets, and the confidence to pursue ambitious goals in technology and innovation.

Student Discovery

This 6-week discovery journey is designed to help you:

  • Deepen your understanding of real-world technology challenges and the communities you want to impact
  • Identify the needs and aspirations of your target audience
  • Explore how your skills and ideas can create value in today’s digital landscape
  • Work alongside mentors to turn your interests into actionable projects

Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to develop and test your ideas, build a personal or business project, and receive one-on-one guidance from industry professionals. The experience culminates in a showcase event, where you’ll present your work to peers, mentors, and community leaders.

Hands-On Mentorship is open to all motivated students interested in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The program is free for participants, and no prior experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Class Format

The program combines virtual and in-person sessions, including weekly mentor meetings, collaborative group projects, and hands-on workshops. Students work on practical challenges, receive feedback, and have opportunities to present their ideas to peers and industry professionals.
